Compose a Gmail message from any tab

Open a full-screen Gmail compose window instantly — optionally with the recipient already filled in.

How to do it

  1. Press ⌘ Shift K (Ctrl Shift K on Windows).
  2. Type "email", optionally followed by an address: "email alex@company.com".
  3. Press Enter.

Also works from the address bar: type “g”, a space, then “compose”.
