    Add the extension

    Open the Chrome Web Store listing and click “Add to Chrome”.

    Pin it

    Click the puzzle icon in the toolbar, then the pin next to Google Slides New.

    Press the shortcut

    Press ⌘ Shift K on Mac or Ctrl Shift K on Windows, Linux and ChromeOS.

Change the keyboard shortcut

If ⌘ Shift K clashes with another app, open chrome://extensions/shortcuts (paste it into the address bar), find Google Slides New and record a new shortcut for “Activate the extension”.

Shortcut not working?

Chrome only assigns a suggested shortcut if no other extension already uses it. Check chrome://extensions/shortcuts and set it manually.
